It’s been three years since my father passed away. It hasn’t gotten easier, but he lives on in the pages of Secrets & Shadows and Someday. He always wanted to draw comics. In fact, he was a big Jack Kirby fan and fashioned his own style after Kirby’s. There were days when I felt like he wished he’d stuck with it and I’d hoped that one day, we could work on a comic book as a father and son team. Sadly, that did not come to fruition. However, I think he would think being a character in a comic book is just as cool.
It doesn’t get easier, but as long as I have memories and stories to remember him by, he isn’t really gone.
