Comic Series

Comics in June 2016

It’s been awhile since my last real update.

Clusterf@#k has now been out for almost two months and I’ve been spending time trying to market and build a new Clusterf@#k Twitter page. I started doing freelance captioning for Rev.com in order to supplement my income. It’s been going well and I’ve been able to see some interesting videos that I probably wouldn’t have watched in my free time (from bee keeping videos to fracking docs).

In comics news, I have three things on the horizon.

  1. I have a 12 page crime story with Dexter Wee that I plan on putting up on the website in the future. It’s similar to the short Job Security but it is much more serious and does get a little violent, but hopefully people will enjoy it. Needless to say, Dexter’s art is amazing as usual.

  2.  I will also be attending my second Comic Con (my first time tabling solo) at the St. Louis Comic-Con. It runs on the 18th & 19th. I don’t know my table number yet but I’ll provide an update once I do. It’s a big deal so I’m gearing up for the road trip.
  3. In not-sure how much I can say news, I was approached by a creator I respect to collaborate with a creation of his. It’s the first time working characters and a story I didn’t create so I am slightly nervous, but I am also going to do my best to rise to the challenge. Hopefully once we get further along and I get the okay, I’ll have some more info.

I do have some other stuff here and there, but those are my main focuses for this month.

That’s about it. If more stuff happens, I’ll have more updates. Thanks for checking in.

Later Days,
Jon

Free Comic Book Day at Pastimes Comics

P1010552

This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day! And for the first time, yours truly will be spending it at a comic store signing and selling books, including my most recent book Clusterf@#k.

The store in question is Pastimes Comics in Niles, Il. I actually ended up meeting Eric, the person who invited me, because my mother was a guest on his podcast, The Nerdologues (you can listen to her episode here). I had actually been following him on Twitter beforehand so when my mother said the name of the show, I was very surprised at the coincidence. Going against type, I brought a copy of Clusterf@#k with me for him. He liked it and later asked if I’d like to come be a part of their FCBD. And the rest is history.

If you live in the Chicagoland area and are free on Saturday, come on down to the shop.

Hope to see you there!

Out Of Print?

Anyone who has checked out the book on Amazon might be surprised to find that it is listed as “out of print”, well it turns out that the publishing group Alterna was a part of has shut its doors suddenly and without any real warning to Alterna. This puts mine and most other Alterna books in a state of flux. The good news is that Alterna was in the stages of moving to another publishing group. The bad news is that it may take a few months before things get back to normal.

The book is still available on my Storenvy (I have tons of books) and you can always order a copy at your local comic book store. If you don’t have a local store, there are also stores that will deliver them to you.

When the book is back up on Amazon, I will make sure to let people know.
